Recently at my work my player was once again discharged. Of course, there is Laft.fm (if you are willing to pay), Spotify (if you live in England) and vkontakte (if you have the opportunity to use it) and Internet radio (station 2.0 is unmatched), so I didn’t stay without music. Nevertheless, I was thinking about how to get easy access to music on my computer through the Internet.
It would seem that the easiest option is to simply raise the ftp server on your home computer, share with it the folder with music, and download the music you need from it. However, at work I do not want to bother with copying music. I want it to be easy and convenient.
The second option is streaming. There are enough solutions for this, but this is also not the case. Because you need to decide in advance what kind of music to thrust into the stream, and this is not for me) Although of course, there is an option to make the broadcast server randomly select music from the entire collection.
To tell you the truth, I practically decided on this option when I came across
PulpTunes .
PulpTunes is a dedicated web server that allows you to organize simple and easy browser access to your entire iTunes music library! It looks like this:

Broadcasting is carried out using a standard flash player, and you can set the buffer size, so even with a not very good connection, everything will work, and you can (if you want) download individual tracks. And, surprisingly, all this does not require the intervention of a file and works right out of the box. All popular operating systems (Windows, Mac OS, and Linux) are supported.
However, there are several drawbacks. First, right after installation, authorization is not enabled - all your music is available to anyone at the same time. Although it is not difficult to fix. Secondly, the web interface is not very convenient for searching for specific performers and specific tracks. It is more difficult to deal with this, but playlists help well.
