It seems that many have seen some time on Habré at the top of the banner about the fact that girls in Respect will not wait for the boys from Habr. Moreover, he was interested in the Theme Media project, and I decided to try it out. Frankly, I'm disappointed. But I will try to look at the project without too much criticism.
It should be clarified that I still periodically check Contact and Facebook, although I am calm towards them. From this couple I prefer Facebook for my microblogging system - updated status - it is seen by your friends, added a photo, posted a link - all of this is displayed in the friend feed of your friends. And what is important - such events can be commented on, which is quite interesting and not boring.
Having seen the perspective system - I was glad that the microblogging scheme slightly more than completely repeats the Facebook system. Those. when you hit the main page, you see a stream of "news" / posts / updates, call it what you want. At what you can choose the "common" - displays the posts of all visitors to the site, "my" - your posts, your friends, etc. (customized) and "answers" - the answers to your posts.
')
The column on the right displays the latest photo comments as a separate widget thread.
In addition, there are all the necessary features of social. Networks - adding photo albums, commenting on them, and more.
Technically, everything is beautiful and cozy. You can change the theme and other ryushechki.
Each user has an analogue of karma / rating called Respect.
What disappointed? The community was disappointed.
If you do not talk about the semantic content of posts in the main thread, it becomes just surprising from the dominance of the mat in the posts themselves and in comments. Spam is not filtered - I personally found that a certain user added komenty, which was 2 scrolling screens in several posts. To my surprise, there was no limit.
At some point, the general flow started without thinking about the meaning, non-stop posting links to the video, which irritated some of the commenters, but did not affect the poster-spammers.
Thus, I learned that the Respect system does not really work and no one pays special attention to it.
What is the bottom line?Behind:technically perfect engine
microblogging
girls with beautiful photos
Vs:mate in the comments and posts
stupid posts
spam is not filtered
Respect system does not work
So I asked the question: for what is the prospect of “respecting”?
UPD: re-read it again and thought that he did not offer anything in return.
It seems to me that all the disadvantages given by me are correctable. The karma system is corrected, spam is filtered out and so on. But I don’t know how to attract there a more reasonable and interesting audience.
