Zarazi MacOS - get money (the horrors of our town)

At the VB Conference 2009, the IB conference on information security, virus analyst at Sophos Labs, Dmitry Samosseikko, told Sophos Labs about a new phenomenon in the virus-writing industry. The partnerka’s affiliate network of Russian origin, Partnerka, which spreads spam and malware for Mac, got into the field of view of the speaker. In particular, we are talking about Trojans that are embedded in pseudocodecs.



An example of such a “program member” is the already closed resource Mac-codec.com, from which fake codecs and utilities for Mac were distributed. However, the attackers who organized Partnerka paid a reward of 43 cents for every Mac infecting them with spyware. On the same site there were also samples of "promotional materials" intended to spread myths among naive makovods about the need to install antivirus software (naturally, fake and destructive).
