LJ and Google will give users to earn

LiveJournal (LiveJournal, LiveJournal) and the Google AdSense contextual advertising system launched a joint project Your Journal - Your Money. With its help, owners of paid and permanent accounts will be able to earn money by displaying advertisements in their magazines.

The new program will allow owners of paid and permanent LJ accounts to integrate AdSense ad units into their magazine and receive additional revenue from displaying advertisements in their magazine, according to a message on the LiveJournal news page. Users themselves will determine where to display ad units, and choose what they will be: text or banner.

Only unregistered users and owners of free accounts will see advertising: paid users posting a $ 19.95 annual subscription will still not see the advertisements in LiveJournal. At the same time, only individual bloggers will be able to use the service: this service is not available to communities.

In order to place an ad banner, developers suggest linking a LJ account with a new or existing Google AdSense account and follow the setup procedure. The program was launched at two in the morning - before eight in the morning, 300 people had already taken advantage of the new service, Vladimir Dolgov, the head of Russian Google, told GZT.RU.

Debt found it difficult to calculate how much a blog owner can earn with a single advertising click. “AdSense is an auction model for pricing per click, which is determined by the number of advertisers and their willingness to pay certain money per click,” explained a top manager, adding that its price varies depending on the subject of advertising.

LiveJournal declined its share in the distribution of income: the money for displaying ads will be shared between Google and the user. Vladimir Dolgov declined to say what percentage of the proceeds would go in favor of Google, but said that last year worldwide the AdSense contextual advertising system earned about $ 20 billion and paid more than $ 5 billion to its partners.
