Adobe is preparing an offline Flash video player.

Adobe , which dominates the online video market, announced the release of Adobe Media Player for playing Flash video files offline.

Most likely next week in Las Vegas, at the Show of the National Association of Television Broadcasting Companies, Adobe will tell in detail about the new player that downloads the Flash video for later viewing without connecting to the Web. The player will be available for Windows and Mac.

Previously known as Philo, Adobe Media Player will allow users to subscribe to video podcasts via RSS, and then play them. Also, the application will allow users to comment and share videos.

Adobe, developing the player, focused on companies that provide video content, so it focused on the built-in content protection tools.

Mark Randall, chief strategist at the Adobe Dynamic Media Organization, says publishers are currently using Flash-based video to broadcast on the Web (and now 76% of the total) will be able to use the new player, which will provide new opportunities.

Adobe Media Player will support two types of security. In the first version, the downloaded video is tightly attached to the advertisement (without the ability to remove it), and in the second version, the content control system will prohibit certain computers or users from downloading the video.

In addition, as stated by Adobe employees, through the use of RSS, publishers will also be able to display both text and animation and video ads.

Adobe will provide a server that will be able to follow users' browsing of the downloaded video using cookies (cookies, cookies) of the browser. This information can then be sent to the publishers.

In addition, Adobe plans to announce that the player will have improved Flash-video playback accuracy.

Adobe Media Player is made on Apollo, a new company platform. Beta testing of the player will begin at the end of spring, and the output is scheduled for the end of this year. The company also thinks about the release of the Linux version and the support of more formats.
