Scientists from NASA have created a magnetic field of sufficient strength to force a laboratory mouse to levitate above the surface. This is as big a breakthrough as a levitating board from the movie Back to the Future. The only problem was that the mouse was drunk on the board.

Scientists from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, California, have created a superconducting magnet that can generate enough energy to tear a rat-sized animal from the floor. Prior to this, experiments were conducted with smaller animals: frogs and beetles, this is the first time such an approach has forced such a large animal to be torn off the ground. The magnet pushes the water inside the mouse upward, causing it [the mouse] to float. The surprising fact is that the created magnet works at room temperature (Amendment: the place where the rat is located has room temperature, and not the magnet itself) - this has not been possible before.
