Velcro fastener is a great invention 60 years ago, borrowed from nature. But the usual "Velcro" is the main drawback: it is easily littered and loses its quality (and also deteriorates in the fire). Chemists from the Technical University of Munich have developedMetaklett heavy-duty metal construction, which can be used in any environmental conditions, with any contamination and with temperatures up to 800 ° C. In other words, it can be used both for fastening parts in a car, in medical equipment, and for other industrial and military purposes, and not only in clothing. It can withstand a load of up to 35 tons per 1 m 2 , while snapping it in just as easily and quickly as a regular velcro.
After testing, the scientists chose the two most successful designs, which they called Flamingo (flamingo) and Entenknopf (duck neck). The names correspond to the shape of the elements, the results of 3D-modeling, see under habrakatom. ')
A computer model for calculating the load for the two types of construction is shown in the videos.
