The Markopul company , in which my friend works, is engaged in the supply of chemicals to disinfect water in the pools.
In this post I publish the results of the site audit.
Visual design
At first glance, the site design was created 5 years ago and since then has faithfully served the site owners. "Creaks worn saddle ...". Particularly touching is the
mountain turned upside down in a “cap”. Probably too creative a step for the average man.
Why the text of the description of the drug is located in such a
narrow column ?
The footer of the page (basement) is made very carelessly - the font is not readable, it is not clear Markopul Chemicals - is it a trademark or a company name?
Information architecture
In principle, it is good that a fragment of the product catalog is placed on the main page - this is convenient for potential buyers. However, I consider it important to indicate contact information in the footer of the page (“footer” or “basement”), as well as in the upper “header”. This will facilitate the visitor contact with the manager of the company.
On the
catalog page (it’s also the main one) the product description of the “MiniPul Complex” is designed as a Microsoft Word file — rather unexpectedly for the visitor.
The Markopul company competes with the
Context company in the field of water care products. The site Kontekta conveniently implemented a catalog of goods with a calculator.
The site seems to be created without a content management system (otherwise why post the product description in MS Word format) - this makes it difficult to update the site, and making this process inaccessible to ordinary company employees.
Site content
At first glance, the
Articles section is decently decorated. There are even articles written by specialists with scientific degrees, which inspires confidence.
In the
history of the company I do not see the year of formation of the company (well, at least there is an official name). There is no other information that interests me as a potential consumer:
- Where is the production? Why no production photos?
- How much is produced per year? If the company is "dynamically growing", then how much has production increased over the past 3 years.
In general, the section is crammed with general phrases, instead of concrete figures and facts: “dynamically growing”, “high professionalism”, “introduction of new technologies” and classics of the genre :-) -
“flexible discount system and individual approach” .
Website promotion
Tags title and description are listed only on the main page. On the remaining pages the names and descriptions of the pages are missing. This worsens (if not negates) the visibility of the site in search engines.
The main page in the title contains the keywords:
- pool chemistry - 14th place in Yandex
- Markopul - 1 place
- pool maintenance - 23 place
At the same time, sufficiently asked words are completely omitted:
- water disinfection
- marco pool
- oxitest
- pools chemistry
- water care
In this regard, the main recommendations:
- Specify a title (title tag) corresponding to the page content, and a description (description tag) on each page of the site. Names and descriptions should be different.
- On the main page, specify the name of the page containing the maximum number of keywords. For example: "Markopul is a supplier of chemicals for swimming pools (water disinfection, water care) from Moscow." In my opinion, in the title it is important to indicate that the company is from Moscow. Against the background of increasing competition with the regions, this will allow the company to find a company with queries indicating the city.
Summary
If the company is focused on the growth of sales due to new customers, the cheapest way is to optimize the site.
In this area the competition is relatively small, so for the next 3-4 months it is appropriate to order:
- One-time work on the optimization of the site (correct indication of the headers and descriptions of pages); internal linking of pages, etc. according to the above recommendations.
- One-time site promotion work will ensure the presence of the company in the top ten of Yandex by keyword for 3-4 months. However, there is a risk of increased activity of competitors, then with the fall of the site in the issuance will have to do the work again. Therefore, it is reasonable to enter into a monthly maintenance contract.
These measures can double the monthly flow of visitors, which will entail a significant increase in the number of hits.
