2D image in the air
Heliodisplay (from IO2 Tech) realizes a 2D image in the air to sizes 30 inches diagonally.
Viewing in direct sunlight is not possible. The image is still only 2D - i.e. flat.
But viewing does not require any special additional devices or glasses.
