Sony: 3D TVs in every home!

Sony has announced plans to start selling 3D TVs by the end of next year. At the IFA fair in Berlin, one of Sony’s top managers said that in addition to Bravia TVs, Vaio laptops, PlayStation 3 consoles and Blu-ray disc players will support 3D technology.

Representatives of the 3D industry have yet to define a single standard for 3D, which is fraught with another “war of formats”. Sony supports the technology of "active valves", the essence of which is the use of electronic glasses with tiny valves that quickly open and close synchronously with the television image, thereby creating a 3D effect. As is known, now a simpler system is used in stereo cinema.

The price of a stereovizor has not yet been announced, but analysts suggest that it will be several thousand pounds sterling.
