Vision like the T-900, on the way!

The University of Washington, led by biotechnology professor Babak A. Parviz, is developing unusual contact lenses.
They are built LED displays to display information. Creating such lenses requires solving such issues as powering the electronics, creating an optical system for the normal perception of information from displays. Subsequently, the question of increasing the time of wearing such lenses will be decided, now their comfortable wearing does not exceed 20 minutes, I think it will be decided by replacing the material of the lens itself, from glass to polymers.
Power is planned to provide without wires, due to the energy of radio frequency radiation. Creating an additional lens in front of the display made it possible to focus the image in such a way that it is perceived as at a meter distance.
Taking into account such a developing direction as augmented reality, I think such lenses will find their place in the market.
