Knowledge of HCD (Human-centred Design)

At the beginning of this summer, we shared the materials of our lecture on Microsoft .NET Architecture Day. We talked about the new ISO standard "Human-centred Design" .

Over the summer, we have developed, in continuation of this lecture, a whole CUP (Certified Usability Professional) certification program [announcements of the program can be found here and here ].

Today on the Day of Knowledge, we offer everyone to test their knowledge of HCD . This test is designed as a screening test for CUP participants.

As you remember, HCD describes the process and principles, not buttons and molds.

As approbation, usabilityLab employees passed the test. Our project director Andrei Ponomarev received the highest score - 36 out of 40 !

We decided to establish a prize for the one who beat Andrei's record: the first one who scores more than 36 points on the test will get the opportunity to study under the CUP program for free!

PS Tip - watch the video (first link). All test questions are covered in this lecture.

UPD 1. 03:14 09/02/09 49 people passed the test at three in the morning. Ponomarev's record is not yet broken .
In the morning we will update the data, we will send the newsletter to those who left contacts, with information about what result they have got.

UPD 2. 11:40 09/02/09 119 people passed the test. Ponomarev's record is not yet broken .

UPD 3. 15:40 09/02/09 173 people passed the test. The distribution of the total score (the number of correct answers) can be seen in the updated chart below. Ponomarev's record is not yet broken .

UPD 4. 20:14 09/03/09 (last) Many thanks to everyone who passed the test. In two days we received more than 200 completed tests. The number of anonymous profiles is only 32.

Considering that so far none of those who took part in the test scored more than 36 points, we decided to soften the rules of the competition and give three people who scored the highest score an opportunity to receive free training under the CUP certification program.

They are:
- Evgeny Ovcharenko (Tomsk),
- Andrey Petrusha (Kiev),
- Alexander Silin (Moscow).

They scored more than 30 points.

All the rest we gave discounts on training and the activities that we hold.

We received many thanks in response to the newsletter. Nice to work with nice people.

Today we held the 40th UX Russia webinar, where we discussed the test approbation results:

The test continues to work if you want to test or double-check your knowledge. HCD: Welcome! Our promise to teach for free the first one who gets more than 36 points is in force! All good interfaces!

UPD 5. 00:17 09/04/09 (not the last) The pursuer Ponomarev just appeared: this is Svetlana Olishevskaya (Kiev), she scored 35 points! Light included in the number of winners (definitely!).

UPD 6. 01:53 09/07/09 (victory!) Ponomarev's record is broken! Gulfiya Kurmangaleeva (student from Orsk) at 17:36 scored 38 points.
