A few months ago, we had with our comrades - n0uk and xul - an interesting idea of the Jabber-based service. Thought the idea and began to develop. The process is still going on, but along the way we have a Jabber-gateway for Twitter, which would like to share a bit.
The service is called t2p.me. It works, as usual, via the Twitter API and allows you to send and receive tweets directly via the instant messenger: Google Current, KIP Infium, Miranda, Ya.Online, etc.
What t2p.me can do :
send and receive tweets;
respond to a specific tweet;
send private messages (direct messages);
shorten long links (only if the link does not fit into a tweet);
break long tweets into several (before sending a “sawn” tweet, asks if it suits you);
cancel the last tweet, if suddenly you accidentally clicked Enter;
can switch off by the command “skukozhit” and turn on by the command “to crack” (if the bot is turned off, you will not receive tweets, but you can send them yourself);
Receives the last 10 tweets by the “#” command in case you “boiled down” the bot.
In the near future:
screw comfortable retweets. Twitter API has already appeared the rudiments of native retweets, so that as soon as Twitter launches this feature, we will also screw retweets;
set up receiving answers from those who turn to you, but you don’t follow him;
and some more interesting things.
Since t2p.me works through the Twitter API, it has natural limitations on the number of calls to Twitter and, as a result, a limit on the number of users. That is why t2p.me works exclusively on invites. ')
