I have been using
Google's email service for a long time. And I was tormented by one question how to get rid of some undesirable interface elements, such as contextual advertising, spam counter, etc.
After not a long search, I came across the
Google Customize website which offers an extension for the
Firefox browser.
Here are a couple of the most notable options for this extension:
* disabling contextual advertising and deleting pages associated with it
* adding links to other search engines (Yandex, Yahoo, Rambler, Ask, AllTheWeb, MSN, Lycos, Altavista), including other web services
* filter search results by specified conditions, including support for regular expressions
* increased security by forcibly switching to using the encrypted HTTPS protocol, blocking Google Analytics cookies and link click tracking, anonymity support when working with service profiles
* adding links to the WayBackMachine online archive and to the selected online service, for example, in del.icio.us
* Connect the mechanism of Google Suggest, which improves search efficiency by "predicting" user requests!
Use!
