Spotify got the go-ahead to the Apple Store

Apparently, Spotify is worth two major major labels (Warner and Universal) played into the hands of a young Swedish startup, as Apple recently gave the go-ahead to host the Spotify client for iPhone in the Apple Store. This is not surprising, since Apple’s revenue depends in part on sales of mp3 songs, and it will be the last thing to quarrel with Apple labels.

It remains to hope that the antitrust committee will rein in the company, and applications such as Google Voice will get into the AppStore.
