For most programmers, C ++ is like Latin: 1. Very many modern languages have descended from it, but now very few people use it. 2. It is believed that in Latin C ++ you can write anything. This is probably true, but the phrases are cumbersome. 3. Studying in a classical university implies a mandatory study of C ++. After studying, few people understand him anyway. 4. Well understood in institutions where they support old software. Read the "library with manuscripts." 5. Librarians consider everyone who does not know Latin to be ignorant.
Upd : 6. Latin is often endowed with mystical possibilities (see G. Potter). C ++ too.
Humor, yeah. :) ')
PS I know I knew, but now I don’t like it.
