The government of St. Petersburg has decided to develop free software.

The Government of St. Petersburg has signed an agreement of intent with the GNU / LinuxCenter. Under the agreement, the parties will work towards popularization, distribution of Free Software, training of teachers and government officials, development of support infrastructure, implementation and development of Free Software in St. Petersburg.
As a result of the fulfillment of intentions under this agreement, the demand for various Linux specialists (and at the same time their number) should increase in St. Petersburg, as well as develop the market for companies involved in implementing, refining and supporting free solutions. In particular, the development of the market will be the reason for the emergence of a large number of new small companies working in this direction.
