How do you perceive your birthday?

For me personally, there are two dates in the year when I think about what has been done and what remains to be in my life - this is a new year and a birthday.

Moreover, I perceive the new year as a new room in a series of rooms of a large palace: on the night of 31 to 1, a new door opens to a new room, I enter it and can no longer return to already completed rooms (almost as an excursion at the Petrodvorets ))
And each room offers a new door something new, interesting, something I have not seen or did not know before.

On a birthday lately, things are a little more complicated.
On birthday, a hard reflection rolls in :) And the further, the stronger it is ...

I think that this is because birthdays measure my final life, and the new year measures almost nothing, because this is a milestone of infinite (at least in terms of human life) time :)

And how do you perceive your birthdays?
Do thoughts come to you on this day that do not happen at another time?
Do you think about something on this day and if so, about what?
