The Samsung N510 became the first netbook available to customers with the Nvidia ION (HD compatible chipset). He appeared in
Germany and
Italy . Expected in France. A cheaper version with Windows XP and support for DirectX 9 is on sale.
In the US, the N510 will not be sold until the release of Windows 7 (October 22, 2009). In Europe, after October 22, in addition to the DirectX 9 version, an even more expensive DirectX 10 version will simply appear on Windows 7. The hardware is the same in both netbooks. Here it is, the first netbook with Ion:

Focusing ahead - before the release of Microsoft DirectX 10 - the release of the netbook will allow Samsung to thoroughly capture this market niche in the European market, ahead of all its competitors. As I wrote earlier, the
Lenovo S12 ION was postponed until the release of Win7 , and therefore, contrary to initial expectations, did not become the first netbook on this HD-compatible chipset.
