IOI-2009: another triumph of Gena Korotkevich

14-year-old Belarusian child prodigy Gennady Korotkevich continues the triumphal march at world programming contests. He wins almost all the competitions in which he participates.

The next achievement of Korotkevich was the 21st World Programming Olympiad among schoolchildren ( IOI-2009 ), which was held August 8-15 in Bulgarian Plovdiv. For the third year in a row, Gennady Korotkevich won a gold medal there, and this time he became the absolute champion - the youngest in the 21-year history of the competition. In 2006, for the first time participating in the international school Olympiad, the 11-year-old Belarusian won only silver (he lacked six points to a gold medal). After that, Gene did not allow failures.

Gennady Korotkevich finished 8 classes of gymnasium No. 56 of the city of Gomel. After IOI-2009, he can repeat the path of the Chinese-Australian prodigy Terence Tao , who won the gold of the Olympics in 12 years and the next year went to university, and in 24 years became a professor of mathematics at the University of California (UCLA).
