Debian Day 2009

It was on August 16, back in 1993 that the debian Project was officially founded by the creator of debian GNU / Linux, Jan Murdkom. Debian gave life to many projects, including Ubuntu - the most popular linux distribution, Maemo - used in Nokia's MIDs (and not only), Knoppix - LiveCD for all occasions. Debian is ported to 11 architectures and has the largest software repository. According to DistroWatch, Debian is in 5th place in terms of popularity.
