More than half of computer viruses work only 24 hours.

PandaLabs analyzed 37,000 new samples of viruses, worms, Trojans and other security threats that it receives every day, and found that 52 percent of them work only 24 hours. "After this period, they become inactive, and harmless."

This means that about 19,000 online threats last for more than 24 hours each day.

PandaLabs believes that the reason for the inertness of malware in such a short period of time is to increase the likelihood that they will pass unnoticed.

Last year, the number of malicious programs registered by PandaLabs increased significantly. The company has registered 18 million malware samples. “This is a constant race between malware developers and anti-data companies. So far, malware developers are winning because we need a sample to fight it, ”said PandaLabs, Technical Director of Luis Corrons.
