VMware buys SpringSource

VMware, the largest player in the virtualization market, buys SpringSource, the developer of the Spring Framework, Apache Tomcat (the largest contributor and maintainer of code) and other java-oriented developments.

SpringSource is valued at $ 362 million (plus $ 58 million in stocks and options). Thanks to the purchase, companies are hoping to bring virtualization and cloud computing services to a new level.
