Microsoft Velocity Architecture

If anyone had a few distributed cache, Microsoft builds its own - Velocity.
There is no release yet, there are only a few Community Technology Preview, but the work is carried out at an accelerated pace. The project has

It’s hard to say why they started it, maybe because they always do that, but most likely Microsoft continues to build its software stack for Azure. Velocity = memcached, Dryad = Hadoop + Hive / Pig, etc.

But this is not interesting, the architecture of the project is very interesting - it was done notably.
