How Badalamenti created music for Twin Peaks

Recently came across this video clip. I think this is something amazing. Even not so much the music itself, but it is really beautiful and harmoniously fits into the plot of the picture, but rather how two professionals (rather, even talent) created a masterpiece in a few minutes. I also concluded that the important role played by live communication when creating a great product.
