Sky Link returned to women's hands

Exactly a week after the resignation of the general director of the cellular operator Sky Link, Aleksandar Nesterov, the shareholders of the company decided on his successor. Gulnara Husainova became the new head of the operator, according to a message from Sky Link.

Mrs. Khusainova spent all her life in marketing long-distance telephone services. She began her career in 1992 at the Moscow Intercity International Telephone Company, then worked at Rostelecom, and in 2005 she started the first alternative long-distance telecommunications operator, Interregional Transit Telecom (MTT). In this company, she held the position of deputy general director for commercial activities.

It seems that Sistema Corporation, which controls the operating activities of Sky Link, recognized the experiment with Mr. Nesterov as unsuccessful: last May, Nesterov came to a management position at Sky Link not from the depths of System. Now, the corporation has returned to the practice of assigning “its own” people to key positions, because 50% of MTT's shares belong to Sistema. It is noteworthy that in MTT and Sky Link, Sistema has the same partner, the St. Petersburg group of signalers, close to the communications minister Leonid Reiman. It is not excluded that this fact also played a significant role in the appointment of Ms. Khusainova. By the way, before Mr. Nesterov, Sky Link has been led by a woman, Raisa Rozinova, for a year and a half.
