Spacewalk 0.6 - a new version of open source software for centralized management of Linux-systems
Spacewalk is an open source software for managing Linux systems. With the help of Spacewalk it is possible:
Inventory systems (information on hardware and software)
Installing and updating software on a large number of systems
Installing systems with kickstart
Modify and distribute configuration files
System monitoring
Installing Virtual Systems
Start / Stop / Virtual System Configuration
Spacewalk serves as the basis for the Red Hat Network Satellite and is its free counterpart. Spacewalk works with RHEL, Fedora, and other systems based on RHEL, such as CentOS, Scientific Linux, and others.
To be honest, I'm a little surprised that there is not a single article on the spacewalk, but this is quite a powerful tool that allows you to systematize and simplify work with a large number of systems. I first heard about him in December last year from Andrei Martynov, when I studied at RHCE in inventory, successfully introduced Spacewalk in our company and for more than half a year I use it for centralized management of systems based on CentOS 5.
