Otherwise, there will be no salaries for the staff servicing the servers, there will be no iron upgrade for them ... eventually the project will be bent, and it will be bad for everyone that Ilham did not want. And now let us remember that the overwhelming majority of the historically established QIP audience needs only ICQ, they never would have gone anywhere in their lives, some do not understand in principle why the authors of the free program are not obliged to immediately fulfill their requirements immediately. So we compromise. As a result, we get the inclusion of services by default.
The marketers (and indeed any representatives) of the company have one annoying feature: they never went to the QIP forum, didn’t read the reactions of people, and they don’t get through to them, except by phone and email. (We will add some consequences of this problem at the end, in the section “What should we do?”). In fact, we should clearly distinguish these two groups of the population: partners from RBC, who dictate advertising conditions and the inclusion of all the default settings, and us - testers, forum moderators and a support group who love their program, and representatives of the first group for the most part not seen in the eye. Separately, it is worth to highlight Sega-Zero, which is forced to play here the role of a link between the two groups. And it is compelled to get on its head all streams of dirt from users, those who stubbornly refuse to distinguish between two independent groups. And, by the way, from each new stream more and more wants to send everyone somewhere far away.
Each specific situation is not always controllable. Here you can see the main page of the QIP project, as it was during a significant period of time: news about the program, links to resources with information and a summary of RBC services. Now , since the beginning of July, this is a combine-aggregator of all services, and in this case we will not be able to do anything. Now, however, they are engaged in redesign again, and, I hope, for the better.
As a peak of interest, it is impossible not to mention the recent history associated with the Gamer-Online portal, aka games.qip.ru. Yes, gentlemen, you are absolutely right, this is called negligence, negligence of the Gamer administrators, which, by the way, they first decided to discuss at Habré, and only after a while they glanced at the forum and left a notice there. The news made a long and painful way “Habrahabr → User → Forum QIP → Moderators of the forum → Sega-Zero → RBC → Guilty”, after which the page was finally closed. And who apologized? That's right, Galezdinov ...
In addition to the scandal with gamer.qip.ru, it is worth mentioning another event of a lower rank: a forced change of the QIP installer (and 2005, and Infium). Earlier, a separate part of the imposition was the default search and the start page, modified in browsers by QIP 2005 and QIP Infium installers. If, until now, the opportunity to choose was always provided, then now it is possible only when switching to “Custom installation” instead of “Basic”, which goes by default. And nothing can be done with this installer logic. But the outrage of users in many ways does not pass without a trace, in particular, there is a progress regarding the installer: now there is a discussion of the text of brief and understandable explanations for every installation option.
True, many people, as we have repeatedly seen in the article, do not even read the information indicated obviously. Which leads them to a logical perturbation - the perturbation of the default settings .
