The other day I learned about a
special program for mac buyers.
The bottom line: if you buy any mac from
this list from the 8th of June 2009, you can participate in the program and get a dvd from the new OS for $ 9.95 instead of ~ $ 30 for the regular leopard upgrade.
')
To participate in the program they will need to fill out a registration form, pay for participation in the program (the same $ 9.95, I used PayPal for payment), then print a form with a bar code, attach a photocopy of a detailed computer bill to it, and send it by mail (yes, , the most real mail, most shocked) to the nearest Apple software update center. I was asked to send somewhere to England.
You need to do all this within 90 days from the moment you buy a computer. The program is valid until December 26, 2009. Those before the Catholic Christmas application must have time to get to the software update center.
I bought my laptop in Moscow. I don’t know what they have there with computers purchased in other countries. They don’t write off the money for participation until confirmation, it’s written on the paper that the amount is reserved, but is waiting for confirmation from the receiving party.
Upd: For sending a letter by air mail from Moscow to Ross-on-Wye, England, they asked about 75 rubles, which is ~ + $ 2.5.
Upd2: Makos arrived, there was a dvd with OSes in the envelope, a short installation manual and a license agreement. Packaging frankly not in the style of apple :) Everything was updated without problems.
