Joomla! Development line 1.0 terminated. Officially

Sam Moffat (Sam Moffat), one of the leading developers of Joomla!, Reported in the general blog of Joomla developers! That, as was promised last year, work on the development and support of CMS Joomla! line 1.0 discontinued.

Anyone who still uses Joomla! 1.0 in its projects is strongly recommended to migrate to Joomla! 1.5. It should be noted that most extensions written for older versions work in a special compatibility mode, and in 1.5.

Let me remind you that Joomla 1.5 has been rewritten from scratch and provides site administrators and developers with a powerful tool, flexible and convenient framework, and users - a more friendly and secure system, compared to joomla! 1.0.

The developers note that Joomla version 1.0 will continue to be available for download on the Joomla Code if anyone needs it to restore the functionality of already existing sites.

Present, already, for Joomla 1.5, and on the horizon (undergoing alpha testing) - an even more improved Joomla !, version 1.6.
