Home page is going up by 40%

Is the crisis over? - the analysts are perplexed. All of a sudden the largest portal in RuNet has announced an increase in prices for all sites on the main page and in the "Mail" section. Tariffs from September 1, increased by 40%. It should be noted that the main page and “Mail” bring Mail.ru almost half of the advertising revenue.

Mail.ru Commercial Director Alexey Katkov, in an interview with the Vedomosti newspaper, explains this decision by an increase in demand. Like, the demand for advertising is growing even in summer! Moreover, for many positions, a real lineup of advertisers is formed. Here is a list of those who this year increased their budgets on the mail portal: Procter & Gamble, Coca-Cola, MTS and the auto dealer Rolf.

However, at the beginning of 2009, prices on the main page of the portal decreased by 25% (in the “Mail” section they were not revised), so the real increase in prices compared to the 2008 level will be only 5%.

None of Mail.ru's competitors are even thinking about the possibility of raising prices - neither Rambler nor Yandex. The IMHO VI agency has reduced prices from the beginning of the year by 20-40%, depending on the site, and is not going to raise them again.
