Tim Berners-Lee again talks about the Semantic Web.

The web inventor and director of the W3C, as you know, has been working on creating the Semantic Web for many years. And while development is still far from complete, Tim Berners-Lee paints stunning pictures of the future, in which computers can communicate with each other and with people in the same language.

The next interview of the patriarch was published in BusinessWeek magazine. There came a whole number dedicated to the future of the Internet and the Semantic Network, including a podcast about it ( mp3 ).

Tim Berners-Lee says that the purpose of their work in the W3C consortium is to make the Network much smarter than it is now. He also expressed regret that at one time he chose the name “Semantic Web” (Semantic Web) for the new technology, because the term “Data Web” would become more precise and simple. This is not the first time that Tim burns in terms. Many still cannot forgive him for the unpredictable abbreviation “double-edable-edible”.
