The smartest GPS-navigators have learned to work with the Internet
An interesting improvement in the GPS device was proposed by the American company Dash Navigation . The Dash Express handheld computer not only determines the current coordinates, but also downloads traffic information via the Internet and displays the estimated travel time, depending on the traffic conditions. This is the world's first GPS system with two-way Internet connection.
The device downloads traffic information, starts a local search through Yahoo! Local Search, shows movie showtimes at the nearest cinema, gasoline prices at gas stations nearby and other geo-dependent information.
Extensive testing of Dash Express will begin this summer. Two thousand testers will be selected from among the geeks who have applied . ')
