Yesterday, Nikon did what everyone expected from it for a long time: it released an updated version of the popular D300 DSLR.

The
D300S version has 1280 x 720 full-size HD video recording (24 fps), an additional high-speed shooting mode (7fps) and a double slot for CF and SD flash cards (for example, you can record photos on one card and video on the other) . Everything else (12.3 MP sensor, autofocus, optics) remains old.

Of course, the main innovation is the shooting of high-resolution video. Here Nikon surpassed itself. First, the video is recorded with stereo sound. Secondly, right while watching videos in the camera, you can mark points, and then cut out unnecessary fragments. That is, this is already some kind of video editing on the 720p stream! Thirdly, added HDMI interface for video output.
Probably, in a couple of years, HD video editing will become the standard feature for all cameras, and in five years it will even be in cell phones. A few gigahertz processors in cell phones will have something to work on, adding effects.
In addition, a new Quiet drive mode and two additional buttons on the case have been added to the D300S (see photos under the screen).
The recommended price of new items is $ 1,799 in the US and € 1,821 in Europe (body only).
