Compatibility test: HTC Diamond 2

The blog has already mentioned a couple of times about those or other devices on which the use of mobile Evernote becomes as comfortable as possible. This time we found such a device under Windows Mobile. Since our developers (concurrently extremely advanced and active users of the service), having consistently examined the communicator, gave a complacent assessment of the possibilities of symbiosis of this device with Evernote, we decided to mention it here. This is the HTC Touch Diamond 2.





Detailed technical specifications will easily prompt Yandex, so here we will not dwell on them particularly. We only note the processor that has noticeably matured since the first Touch - Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz, with which Evernote works in almost any situation smartly: when scrolling through notes, while photographing, while drawing and creating handwritten notes.

As the authors of the mobile application that uses photography, we are always especially sensitive to the quality of the camera and the resulting images. It's no secret that mobile photos are still far from perfect in terms of clarity - but Diamond 2 has exceeded all expectations. The fact is that the 5-megapixel camera can automatically focus approximately 7 cm from the object. Well, since in Evernote most often photograph mostly business cards, writing on stickers and other text, size does matter. Less is better. And the focal length of 7 cm is probably a record today. However, in addition to photos, there are a few more parameters according to which the HTC Touch Diamond 2 can be called “sharpened” under Evernote. The phone has a very sensitive microphone, and it is possible to make notes with lectures or recordings of songs in the car. At the same time, you can use either the built-in Evernote dictaphone or add audio recordings made by the “native” dictaphone:



Handwritten notes with our not the most ideal handwritings are quite readable and even recognized. ;)



Owners of premium Evernote accounts, who have the ability to synchronize files of any type, can also attach to the note a freshly-created video via the “Transfer file” function to Evernote.



Then it is convenient to search for all this beauty not only by keywords, but also by geo-search, since the phone has GPS.

Muscovites can also touch and evaluate the work of Evernote themselves, since we agreed with HTC about installing our client on demo phones at the HTC Care center in Moscow (on Novoslobodskaya Street).

PS We got a test device with Windows Mobile 6.5, and as far as we know, phones with version 6.1 of the system are on sale. But this is good: it is already safe to say that Evernote will work on Windows Mobile 6.5.
