The history of this holiday is associated with the name of Emperor Nicholas I, who is rightly called the "founder of the railway business in Russia."
Therefore, since
1886 , it was decided to annually celebrate the Railwayman's Day
on July 8 , the day of the birthday of Nicholas I. On this day, workers of all the steel highways that converged in St. Petersburg gathered for a friendly dinner at Pavlovsky railway station. This tradition was observed until
1917 . The Bolsheviks who came to power canceled a significant day for the railway workers.
After the October Revolution, the Railway Worker's Day was not remembered for almost
20 years . The tradition resumed only in
1937 . According to the decree of the Central Executive Committee of the USSR dated
June 28, 1937 , it was decided to hold the festival annually on the
first Sunday of August .

Colleagues, I would like to wish the following: reduce downtime, increase salaries, good and sane auditors, who understand the boss, no downfalls, and the park attendants are always on a sunny day and have a positive mood.
ps
It so happened that this year the day of the railroad worker coincided with the day of the paratrooper. And you guys, if there are any in your area, with your professional;)
