I don’t remember when, maybe after upgrading to ubuntu version 9.04, there was a problem. Very often the usual single left click causes two or even three clicks at once. From this, instead of setting the cursor in the middle of a word, this word stands out, or even the whole sentence stands out. When you click on the program buttons on the panel opens two or three copies ... in short, very inconvenient. I have already reduced the double click delay to a minimum, but it does not help, anyway, the likelihood that a single click will double> 50%. Mouse changed, the same problem.
In general, I tried to describe the problem as simply as possible. Honestly, the difficulty is that it is not possible to formulate it succinctly. The mouse generally behaves strangely. For example, select text, drag the pointer to the end of the desired line, release the mouse button, and the selection is removed. Or here is such a glitch: you select the text, it is highlighted to some point, then, apparently somewhere in the depths of either the mouse or the axis, a click occurs, and the text starts to drag.
And there is no understanding where to dig, and for what levers to pull.

There is a feeling that setting the parameter of the lower threshold of sensitivity can solve the problem, that is, when a double click is too fast, it is considered to be single. Is there such a setting and where?

UPD: The problem was solved by cleaning the dust inside the case. Thanks
