The Internet made Aushev more popular than Akhmatova

The results of the voting on the website of the program “Our All” of the radio station Ekho Moskvy regarding the most significant people in Russia in the 20th century turned out to be somewhat unexpected. Among those whose surnames begin with the letter “A”, the former president of Ingushetia Ruslan Aushev won. And all thanks to a call posted on the independent Internet portal Ingushetia.ru .

Such a turn of events upset the host of the program, Evgeny Kiselev, who will now, in accordance with the choice of site visitors, make a program about Aushev. Kiselev noted, not without bitterness , that if it had not been for the “plot” of the Ingushetia.ru readers, then the well-known poetess of the last century Anna Akhmatova would have won the nomination. And so she won 34% of the vote against 56% of the votes cast for Aushev (in absolute terms, 541 thousand against 876 thousand votes). Kiselev even added that at the end of the program cycle (that is, when stories about selected characters pass through all the letters of the alphabet), he does not exclude a “comforting” race for people like Akhmatova.
