Some time ago I imagined that my entire collection of music, which I was laying out according to my daddy, as well as a lot of photographs taken and dear to my soul, would suddenly disappear with the deceased hard drive. After that, we had to urgently attend to the search for a suitable online backup service. Requirements for myself formed such:

1. Unlimited space
2. Cross Platform
3. Ability to use multiple computers
4. Desirable low cost

These requirements were met by many services, but not completely. So, I will tell a little about three which most of all attracted.

Mozy

My current selection.
In my opinion, the most popular service of all. Has clients under Pc and Mac, gives unlimited space for home users for $ 5 a month. It is inexpensive and, moreover, backup occurs at high speed, up to 2 megabits. The support is adequate, communicates via live chat. You can recover files through the web interface.
I did not like the high consumption of memory and brakes on my not very new laptop. Approximately 30000 files took at least 200 megabytes. No settings, I did not achieve a decrease. In addition, backing up data on more than one computer will cost an extra 5 bucks for a “license”.

Backblaze

Another attractive service, though not so famous. It has not such a thick client as Mozy, unlimited space and most importantly, you can connect multiple computers to one account. There is a negative side - not a high backup speed (I ranged around 600 kilobits).

Livedrive

I have not tried it, but of all the others it stands out in extremely interesting conditions. The place is unlimited (there is another tariff for 50 GB.), It allows to fumble files, it is picked up as a local disk, there is ftp access, video and audio player. In general, this is not only a backup, but also an online storage of your data. At first glance, there is only one drawback - 130 (or 56) bucks a year, and without the possibility of monthly payment. I plan to go to him.
