Please help in creating the program: MountManager 1.0.0

I thought for a long time to write or not to write this topic, but I nevertheless decided, after all my own :) I hope you will respond. I once wrote about my small project MountManager, the maximum version of which is 0.2.6. This program is included in the Ubuntu repository and I wrote about it here . On kde-apps.org it has a rating of 83 and 3800 downloads. The program is translated into Spanish, Turkish, Polish, Portuguese, Czech and English. Every week a foreigner sends me a bug report or requests. And some even write reviews with many comments ( Example ). These facts tell me that someone really needs such a program, but it is very difficult for one to manage this project. Therefore, I decided to ask for help from you, dear habravchene.

More about the project

For development I use GoogleCode and here is the project page: LinuxTuner Project . I used to have ambitious plans. I wanted to create a GUI for everything and everyone, so that the Linux user couldn’t even go to the console and into the files, but the competitors crushed and did it all to me :) But since I took up MountManager, I’ll finish it to the end, I decided. Here’s what the current MountManager interface looks like:

But I plan to change this interface for the better, but as I have not yet decided. Maybe some interesting ideas you give me? :) Well, here is a list of those functions that so far came to my mind and the users of the program and which I will try to implement in this project:

• Setting automount options
• The ability to mount connected devices
• Mounting ball, images (Iso, Wine, etc.)
• Plasmanoid KDE4 (More advanced than standard)
• Gnome Panel Plugin
• Support Fuse, LVM
• GUI Udev Rules Editor
• Partition encryption
• Perhaps formatting partitions in different file systems
• Fake Raid partition support

What help would i need

• Ideas. First of all, I would like to ask your imagination to work and come up with some functions that I should add to this program. In Linux, there are many technologies associated with working with disks and other storage-devices. And most of these technologies I would like to embed in this program.
• Translation application. Unfortunately, my English is very weak. I can not translate the application qualitatively. Therefore, I would be very grateful if someone responded and I could periodically send him messages with the template: “Could you translate this phrase into English, please: ....”. At the same time I will learn English. :)
• Help in understanding. If I poorly understand the technology that I am trying to integrate into the program, this can lead to very sad consequences for the user. Since most likely the program will not do what the user wants. And the current technologies are so complicated that without help I cannot understand them all.
• Documentation. Very few developers like to write documentation for their own programs, and I also hate this activity. Therefore, if someone helps me in this, I will be very grateful to him.
• Tips in programming. I'm still a novice programmer. My code is still very weak, not beautiful and not productive. It would be just great if you could help me write the correct code. The program will be written in C ++ using Qt4.
