Gaim renamed

The developers of the popular Gaim messenger notify about the renaming of the project. In connection with the claims AOL messenger received a new name - Pidgin . Accordingly, the project site is now located at a new address - www.pidgin.im .

The name change, as explained on the website, is related to claims by AOL, which owns the rights to the AIM trademark. Negotiations related to this issue, as well as discussion of the new project name, were conducted in private.

Pidgin 2.0.0 release is expected at the end of this week or early next.
