Military robot feeds on biomass

The Americans made a military robot that can use almost any biomass as fuel: grass, trees, old furniture. In principle, he could have received fuel even from human corpses, but this is contrary to the Geneva Convention (for scandal over corpses, see below).

A devourer robot ( EATR, Energetically Autonomous Tactical Robot ) manufactured by Cyclone Power Technologies and Robotic Technology will be able to receive energy in any environment. He will find biomass in the environment, and if fate suddenly throws the robot into the desert, then it will be able to work on solar batteries (this option has not yet been brought to mind, but they promise to add it in the future). It is practically an “eternal” robot, which, for an ideal, lacks only the ability for self-repair and production of its own kind.

In the future, the omnivorous EATR engine can be installed on any model of robots, including unmanned aerial vehicles.

All the media have written about the fact that EATR can even feed on half-decomposed human corpses, so the manufacturers have published a special refutation . They emphasize that devouring corpses on the battlefield is contrary to the 15th article of the Geneva Convention, so their robot is an absolute vegetarian.

Actually, even according to the design of the robot, it is clear that it will not be able to load the corpses of people into the compartment for processing biofuels (at least, they will not fit entirely). The robot has scissors and forceps for cutting branches and foliage. Of course, the pattern recognition system will be programmed to search for only plant foods.

But in general, as a lyrical digression, who needs science fiction, if there are so many crazy scientists in the world (of course, crazy crazy people). Summaries of current news from the world of science today look more exciting than the wildest fantasies of writers. Human cloning, DNA modifications, genetic mutations - now also robots devouring flesh.
