Shooting doublet

Among computer users, it is often possible to see a situation where things that seem simple and obvious to an experienced user turn out to be an insurmountable obstacle for a beginner. The point is clear: a person who first encountered a problem does not yet know the magic simple way in which a problem is solved, and as a result simply does not understand where to start this very solution. An experienced user, who has already found a “way out of the tunnel,” understands that this is a trifling matter. Approximately the same situation arises between developers and users. If one, thoroughly knowing the entire internal "kitchen", consider the situation to be quite normal, others, seeing only the external side of the issue, quite reasonably face a mystery, the solution of which may take some time.

However, on this approach "from afar" is over. The reason for this post is the following: the simultaneous release of Opera 10 beta 2 and the next weekly build. If for Opera developers everything was clear and understandable from the very beginning (who would doubt it), then users were slightly disoriented by such an abundance of new versions and builds. For a start - a visual drawing explaining the essence of what is happening:

In other words, today there were two small releases: Opera 10 beta 2 and the next laboratory browser assembly, which includes Unite technology. Two completely different in meaning and purpose of the assembly. Beta 2 is for all users who want to try the next “ten” in the test mode now, and snapshot is for those who continue active testing of the Unite technology. As soon as Opera’s latest innovation reaches acceptable stability, it will be included in the regular branch. Today, there is the following set of test versions:
Opera 10 Beta 2
- Is a descendant of Beta 1
- Does not include Unite technology
- Build number for Windows - 1642 , Linux - 4492 , Mac OSX - 6560
')
Snapshot Opera 10
- Is a separately developed branch of laboratory assemblies for test purposes.
- Includes Unite technology
- Build number for Windows - 1643 , Linux - 4493 , Mac OSX - 6561

As can be seen from the brief description above, the target audience for these assemblies is slightly different, and these versions are not a continuation of each other — rather, they are native twin sisters living in different parts of the city — one in the “center” so that It was to participate in the general get-together, and the other was out of town, in the “Academgorodok”. Today it happened that both of them were in the same place at the same time, which inevitably led to some confusion: neighbors and friends began to take one for the other.

So, here's the main feature by which you can distinguish versions from each other: the one that without Unite is Beta 2, and the one that with Unite is a weekly laboratory build. Finally - a list of useful links:
