The appearance of Evernote on a computer leads to a critical decrease in the amount of torn-out sheets of paper, stickers and other written papers on the desktop. A similar fate befalls pockets. If in your case this did not happen, and the stream of paper fragments with various lists and phone numbers becomes less manageable, then it's time to start using Evernote at 100%.
Instead of a paper heap on the table, it is better to place a scanner that everyone will probably have, but the majority has long since become a dust collector. Meanwhile, we, it seems to us, have found a very convenient way of scanning various papers directly into Evernote, which should work for most scanners. Below is a description of the method for Mac, but there is a similar way for Windows.
The instruction is quite simple:
')
1. Launch Image Capture, a free application included with OS X (/ Applications / Image Capture)
2. If your scanner is supported (and enabled) you will see a window similar to the one in the screenshot below.
3. Select Region Scan by stretching a rectangle on the preview.
4. Set the scan quality: black and white or color photo (it depends on what is being scanned)
5. Think up and enter the name of the document.
6. Choose a PNG or JPEG format. If you choose PDF, keep in mind that Evernote does not recognize images in PDF documents.
7. Select “Evernote” as Automatic Task - this is the key.
8. Click the "Scan" button - that's all.
In the future, all you have to do is set the scan area and name the documents. The remaining settings will be set by default.
As a result, all scanned documents will be sent directly to Evernote with the headers you enter. All notes will be searchable, thanks to Evernote text recognition system.
We hope this method will allow you to finally clear your work space from unnecessary papers.
