Good day, habroskoobschestvo!
Many of you often see on sites (blogs, forums, etc) something like avatar by default. Those. in order not to display emptiness, a certain default image is displayed (with the familiar question, with the figure of a man, with the inscription “I don't have an avatar” - who has enough imagination for that). For example,
here , or
here (images were taken arbitrarily from the issue of Google on the phrase no avatar).
Such avatars either draw themselves, or choose from a set of ready-made icons. But, in fact, such an image does not carry any information and simply fills the empty space allocated for the avatar. So why don't we take this place a little differently?

The first thing that occurred to me, and, in fact, the idea that I want to share is the use of
QR Code as such a picture. And what to display on it is up to you to decide.
My version turned out like this:
The avatar displays the name and surname of the person. For output, the Google Chars API is used (more details
here ).
And what ideas on replacing no avatar do you have?
PS I don’t claim to authorship, but I haven’t seen such implementation anywhere.
