July 24: Future, Investment and Education at iCamp Russia
The program of the first day of the informal conference of Runet iCamp Russia is fully formed. On July 24, in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Nizhny Novgorod) several events of different formats, but equally interesting in content, will take place: reports at TEDx Nizhny Novgorod, presentations of startups at Investor Day, speeches by representatives of Opera, Godmol.ru, Mail. ru, Head Hunter, Ru CENTER, etc., awarding the Cup of the All-Russian Internet Marathon ROCIT.
The conference will be opened by the TEDx program Nizhny Novgorod, which will be held for the second time in Russia, and for the first time in a thematic format: all presentations will be devoted to the main trends and technologies that shape the future, and will become relevant in the coming decade. MTS Russia marketing director Garrett Johnston, representative of the global co-working project Eric Wright, head of Techinvestlab Anatoly Levenchuk, philosopher Alexander Neklessa, head of the Center for Internet Practices Dmitry Peskov and others will make presentations at TEDx.
After completing TEDx speeches, Godmol.ru project manager Alexey Belyshev will talk about how the youth support program will be developed after 2009.
At 13-00, Investor Day will begin its work, which will be opened by the Chairman of the Subcommittee of the State Duma on Technological Development, Ilya Ponomarev, with a report entitled “The State and the Venture Market”. According to the results of the start-up competition on Investor Day in Nizhny Novgorod, more than 10 million US dollars will be invested. The investment committee will include representatives of the funds: Quadriga Capital Russia, Marchmont Capital Partners, ABRT, Russian Technology Club, Start-up Investments, High Technologies, RITS CIF, Angel Investor, Softline venture, Egenius, StartupIndex, StartupPoint, Nizhny Novgorod Innovation Business Incubator Center US Entrepreneurship-Russia, Nizhny Novgorod Region Ministry of Education, Higher School of Economics, representatives of the business angel community.
The main investor will be the International Commercial Investment Bank (MKIB), represented by the investment director, and personal interviews are scheduled with each potentially interesting start-up.
Google will hold two events in Nizhny Novgorod: at 13.30 at the Future Stage, Google will present the report “Internet in 2019”, and as part of Investor Day will hold a master class for startups on using Google services for startups and Internet projects. Each master class participant will receive a certificate for a free Adwords advertising campaign for their project. In addition, Google will announce a contest for the most effective advertising campaign for startups using the capabilities of Google services. The winner of the competition will receive a nominal prize and the right to an individual two-hour consultation at Google.
The company Opera Software will present a report by Charles McNeville about the innovations of Opera, and will hold a master class on the use of its products. Participants will receive prizes from the company.
