Gmail - is it convenient?

Recently, most of my friends moved to Gmail. I could not understand for a long time whether it was such a fashion or indeed it is so much more convenient for mail.ru and others. The argument for the fact that it was just such a fashion was the fact that Gmail could not be started if no one called you there, but recently it became possible ...



And so, quite recently, I myself needed to get into one collective mailbox on Gmail (which is used by a group of comrades as a file storage and a place for public messages). My surprise and indignation knew no bounds.



Killed several things at once:

in the “standard with chat” view mode, which opens by default, it is impossible to open a letter in a new tab.

In the interface for viewing a separate letter, there is no familiar header with the subject fields, from whom, to whom, and so on. Instead, there is a significant inscription "to whom: me." The situation for me, apparently, is aggravated by the fact that I browse the web without images, and in this form the letter is simply unreadable.

if the letter is the answer and God forbid, the answer is not the first, then instead of the usual cap, some dialogue appears above. If the box is not yours and you see this letter for the first time, then at least kill, it is not clear that someone told or wrote who.

when you click on the attached file with the right button (on the shortcut itself or on the “Download” link) and selecting “Save link as” in the Mozilla menu, not a file is saved, but some html document.





Well, I completely killed the “hint” at the bottom of the screen, which pushed to write this topic:

You can access Gmail from your mobile phone by opening the mail.google.com page in your phone’s browser.

Why not say how to access Gmail from a personal computer?



So all the same, Gmail is convenient and I just did not understand anything?
