My translation of the article 20 Questions To Ask Clients Prior To Designing A Logo Designer Brown Hoff

Before starting any project, it is important to get reliable preliminary information from your client. This will help you pave the right path to the completion of the project, help shape the client’s taste in perspective and build long-term relationships.

Most of the questions below will also help in drawing up a clear questionnaire for the client.
Things like deadlines, use rights, etc. should be included in the calculation.

Since my main activity is related to the design of logos, I am guided by the following 20 questions that need to be asked to the client before starting to develop a logo. Also, some of these questions can be used in survey forms for other types of design, you can freely use them in your questionnaires about print production and web design.

1 - How would you describe your services and / or products?

2 - What are the strategic plans (goals) of your company?

3 - Why do you want a new logo? ( if they already have a logo ) What do you want to achieve with the new logo?

I also like to leave fields for my clients and an empty space at the end of the questionnaire where they can write additional information and comments.

Remember, being a graphic designer means being the one who solves problems. You cannot solve problems without understanding the essence of the problem - ask questions, this is the best start!

What questions do you ask your customers before starting a project? Maybe add to the list? Write in the comments. Thank.
