Sanctification of Panbagon - the temple of all the bags

Colleagues, I want to bring to your attention a new project - Panbagon . What it is? This is a collective blog, the idea of which was borrowed from the project “Is there a problem here?” Recently created by Ben Simo.

On the one hand, this can be considered another “collection of bugs”, supplemented by joint efforts. A list of other collections known to me, mostly English-speaking, can be found at the bottom of the page in the right column. But my goal is not just fixing other people's mistakes, not wanting to laugh at careless developers who have made a mistake, and testers who could not catch it. I would like the participants of this blog to not only publish descriptions of bugs, but also try to understand and describe what caused the defect, why it was left undetected, what techniques, techniques, testing tools could help in its capture, how to prevent it so that such bugs do not arise at all. In general, I want to see not only and not so much the fixation of a defect, but also some additional work of thought, which could bring practical benefits to readers.

Why is this project called Panbagon?

In ancient Rome there was a so-called Pantheon , “the temple of all gods”. And we will have a temple not gods, and bags. But not only consonance led me to choose this name, especially since worship of gods is clearly not part of our plans, on the contrary, we are fighting with them. In later, Christian times, the pagan Pantheon was re-consecrated as the church of all the martyrs. Users who suffer from the presence of bugs in programs are for whom our work is intended, in whose interests we speak, to whom we explicitly or implicitly serve.

If you want to become a priest, that is, co-author of this blog, or just want to make an offering to the temple in the form of a description of a bug - write a letter to panbugon@googlegroups.com. If you are collecting your collection of bugs or you know some kind of collection that is not mentioned in the list at the bottom of the page in the right column, send a link to the same address.

Welcome to Panbagon!
