This data center will become the fourth Opera server platform and will handle requests from Opera Mini mobile browser users from the European region. With the advent of the new data center and the release of resources from other server platforms of the company (in Norway, USA and China), downloading information from the Internet for Opera Mini users around the world will be even faster.

“The new data center in Europe is needed to meet the needs of the rapidly growing number of Opera Mini users,” said Opera Chief Executive Officer Jon von Tetzchner. - A powerful server platform will provide an opportunity to efficiently serve Internet requests from a larger number of users of the popular mobile browser. This will increase our ability to provide high-quality, fast Internet on any device, anytime, anywhere. ”

Poland, as the location of the new data center, was chosen based on its geographical location. In countries such as Russia, Poland and Ukraine, the Opera Mini browser is very popular, and its penetration rate is the highest. The location of the server platform in close proximity to a vast consumer audience will allow faster processing of its requests for receiving information from websites. Over time, the new data center will serve all Opera Mini users in Central and Eastern Europe.

“The new Opera server park on our site reduces the waiting time for processing requests, improves latency,” said Peter Arke, Vice President and Head of Sales, TeliaSonera International Carrier in Norway, Denmark, Finland and the Baltic States. “Our goal is to simplify and accelerate the exchange of information, and together with Opera we are trying to provide European consumers with mobile Internet more opportunities to obtain online information in the“ field ”conditions.”
